The MAHE-MIT NSS Unit commemorated Republic Day by organizing a blood donation camp, fostering a spirit of social responsibility and community service. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Anil Rana, Director of MIT, who lauded the initiative as a meaningful way to celebrate a national day.
Rtn Suparana Shetty, President of Rotary Club Manipal Hills, graced the occasion as the chief guest. She expressed pride in being associated with the noble cause of saving lives through blood donation. Dr. Deep and Dr Ashritha from KMC Blood Center provided valuable insights and tips on blood donation, ensuring a smooth and safe experience for the donors.
The camp was organized in association with MIT Students Council, Abhayahastha Charitable Trust, Lions Club Manipal Yukthi, Rotary Club Manipal Hills, Rotaract Club Manipal, and HDFC Bank Mangalore. The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with 156 donors participating and 108 units of blood collected by KH Blood Center.
The success of the camp was attributed to the tireless efforts of the NSS team, led by program officers Dr. Poornima Bhagavath, Rtn Lakshman Rao, Rtn Harshini Dasari, and Dr. Mahasweta Laskar.
